Phone Batteries — buyer notes (iPhone 11 to iPhone 11 Pro Max)
What matters in a battery is measured capacity, cycle life and a real protection board, not the sticker figure. Padded capacity labels are the number-one complaint in this category, which is why we measure on incoming inspection. The ladder runs original, OEM high-copy, aftermarket and refurbished — and refurbished runs should always be declared. iPhone 11 batteries ship with UN38.3 and MSDS documentation, which is what air freight and customs actually ask for.
For air freight, the UN38.3 summary and MSDS are not optional paperwork — a shipment without them simply does not board.
Specs and checks that matter
- Capacity claim: Rated mAh on the label and measured mAh on a tester are often different figures
- Grade scale: Original, OEM high-copy, aftermarket, refurbished — the grade sets cycle life, not the price
- Compliance: UN38.3 test summary and MSDS travel with every cell — these are what air freight asks for
- Cycle life: A genuine cell holds usable capacity markedly longer than a re-wrapped copy
- Protection: PCM/BMS board and, on some models, a TI gauge chip sit on the cell
Buyer questions
How do I know the mAh is not padded?
We measure on incoming inspection rather than trusting the label, and we will show the test figures on request.
Does a replacement battery trigger a warning?
On supported models no, provided the part number and fuel-gauge chip match — we can flag the models that are fussy.
What is the incoming check on a battery?
Open-circuit voltage, connector position, cell dimensions and a check that the stock is genuinely 0-cycle.
How should I store battery stock?
Keep cartons at room temperature at partial charge and rotate older stock first; heat and a full charge are what shorten shelf life.
